Hey everyone! I am excited to announce that my short story, titled “Uncle Bobo,” was selected to be a part of the upcoming anthology by Flame Tree Publishing, called “African Ghost Short Stories.”

I am delighted and honoured to have been chosen to be a part of this anthology along with the many other talented writers. Flame Tree produces these beautiful books that explore themes, mythologies, folklore, and stories not often encountered in publishing. The stories are both entertaining and educational.

As for my short story, “Uncle Bobo”, I spent a good chunk of secondary school in Benin, West Africa. During the weekends, we would go to the beach. The shoreline extended from Cotonou - where we lived - and went through the town of Ouidah and beyond. I remember seeing fishermen pulling their nets in as well as the many seaside villages.

What stuck me most, was this archway standing in the middle of the beach. The Port of No Return and its history. The story is not based on a real story - out of respect for the local culture - instead, it's an homage to the region, and its rich history.

I hope you will pick up a copy of African Ghost Short Stories and give Uncle Bobo, and all the other great pieces a read!

Coming sometime in April 2024 in the UK and mid-May in the USA.
